Robert George Chambers Sr. Sunrise: August 5, 1957 Sunset: April 14, 2025

With deep sorrow and loving remembrance, we announce the peaceful transition of Robert George Chambers Sr. on April 14, 2025. Born in New Haven, Connecticut, Robert was the cherished son of the late Lillian Richardson and Frank Chambers Sr.

Robert was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, loyal brother, and a dear friend to many. A graduate of Lee High School, he went on to serve honorably in the United States Air Force. His commitment to service continued through his careers at Amtrak and the VA Hospital, from which he both retired. Known for his kind heart, wisdom, and steady presence, Robert touched countless lives with his warmth and generosity.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Debra Chambers; his devoted children: Yashika Chambers, Lashana Chambers, Robert Chambers II(Margo), and Shaquann Chambers; and his treasured grandchildren: Ra’Nyah Douglas, James Johnson Jr., Xyaire Johnson, Kamiye Chambers, Ja’kye Johnson, Arayah Chambers, Shaquan Chambers Jr., Robert Chambers III, and Romel Chambers.

Robert’s legacy of love, strength, and unwavering support will live on through all who knew and loved him.

A celebration of Robert’s life will be held on Friday April 25, 2025 at 11am at Bethel AME Church 255 Goffe Street, New Haven, CT. Viewing in Church from 10-11am. Full Military Honor will be directly following Church. Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com.
