Mr. Robert “Neal” Ware aka Nealy Rock, 57 of 24 Mahan Street, passed away suddenly on April 02, 2023, at his residence. Born in Waterbury, CT. on November 28, 1965, He was the son of the late Robert Z. Ware and his surviving mother Mary N. Ware-Chisholm of Georgia. Neal Rock graduated from Kennedy High School in 1985. He was a point guard #10 and captain of his basketball team.
He loved basketball; he started playing at the early age of 6 and had played all his life. Neal received his 1st trophy as a point guard from The Waterbury Boys Club. His basketball career was suddenly taken by a drunk driver but that didn’t stop him from loving the game that he loved to play.
Besides leaving his momma Mary N. Ware-Chisholm of Georgia, he leaves behind to cherish his memory, his longtime girlfriend Kristen Elbert of Waterbury, three step-children; Jessica Blash of Texas, Tony and Mark Yashenko of Waterbury. He also leaves his sister Barbara Hobbs of North Carolina, James and wife Patricia Ware of North Carolina, Victor and wife Valerie Ware of North Carolina, Audrey Ware and F. Tricia Ware-Hawkins of Georgia, he also leaves his step-brothers Wayne and Anthony Beathea and Melvin Chisholm Jr of Connecticut and his step-sister Antoinette Kelley of Connecticut and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces-nephews, great great nieces-nephews, aunts, cousins and a whole lot of friends.
A celebration of Robert’s life will be held on Friday April 14, 2023 at Colonial Funerals, 270 West Main Street, Waterbury, CT at 11am. Viewing in Colonial from 10-11am.
