Robin Mcleod-Colzie

Mrs. Robin McLeod-Colzie , age 63, a wife, mother, sister and aunt passed away after a brief illness on June 10, 2025, in Yale New Haven Hospital.

Robin Renee McLeod was born on August 31, 1962, in Bridgeport, CT. to Robert R. McLeod and Chinesta Williams McLeod.  She is survived by her husband Ken Colzie, a son Rashon McLeod, two daughters Tamika and Keyona McLeod, and a brother Robert R. McLeod., Jr., and his wife (Dani), a sister Clara Clapp her children.  She leaves a multitude of cousins located throughout the United States, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.   She is predeceased by both parents, and a brother Ronald McLeod.

Robin received her early education through the Bridgeport public educations system.  She graduated from Bassick High School and was a cheerleader.  In the early 90’s Robin relocated to Savannah Georgia with her first husband (John Mackey) and children.  During her time in Georgia, she sought out higher education and received an bachelor’s degree in accounting from Savannah Technical College.   After residing for 10 years in Savannah and losing her husband John.  Robin decided to relocate back to Connecticut.  She moved to Hamden, CT. with her children.   She found employment AT&T as a customer account representative for eight years. Then she went to People’s United Bank as a customer service representative.    She found love again after a few years of dating and married Ken Colzie.   Robin was a member of “Church on the Rock” in New Haven, CT.  She loved showcasing her culinary skills and researching various topics on her “beloved computer”.

Although she’s gone, we will not forget her gentleness and diplomacy helping others.   Her family and friends will miss her smile and love.

The viewing and funeral services will be held on June 26, 2025, at 11am at the Church of the Rock, 95 Hamilton Street, New Haven, CT 06511. Viewing in Church from 10-11am. She will laid to rest at Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport, CT. Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com.
