Ronald Wilson, 68, transitioned peacefully from this life on April 25, 2026, in Connecticut. He was the beloved son of Thelma Connelly, Martha Rhodes, and Robert Rhodes Sr.
Ronald also known as “Ron” was educated in the New Haven public school system and spent much of his life in New Haven, later relocating to Meriden CT. There he resided with his devoted wife, Lori Wilson, with whom he shared 20+ years of marriage. He pursued a career in transportation services. Ronald was a unique individual—reserved by nature, yet capable of making people laugh with his sharp and unexpected sense of humor. He could be rough around the edges at times, but those who truly knew him understood that this was simply the way he navigated the world. Beneath it all, his heart was in the right place. Ronald was pretty simple, he had to have his coffee in the morning and make sure to cut his hair every Sunday. He had a smooth demeanor possessing an impressive cologne collection. One routine that always stood out was his need to hand wash his car every weekend! That was one of his prized possessions. Ronald had a deep love for music. He enjoyed listening to jazz and gospel, he was a talented musician who played in a band. He also shared his gift as an organist, serving churches whenever he was called upon. Above all, he treasured the time he spent with his wife Lori, creating memories to last.
In addition to his parents, Ronald was predeceased by his brother, Robert Rhodes, and his sister, Diana Huff. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Lori Wilson; his children, Anthony Brown (Amy), Amber Caple (Ray) , and Andrea Chisolm (Brandon); his brothers, Thomas Connelly, Robert Rhodes Jr. (Barbara), Clifton Rhodes (Kathy), and Dennis Rhodes; his sisters, Deborah Vaughn, Carol Connelly (Sonitta), Diane Williams, Yvonne Philpot (William) and 9 grandchildren. He also leaves a host of extended family members, dear friends, and loved ones who will forever hold him in their hearts. Ronald’s life will be remembered as one of authenticity.
A celebration of Ronald’s life will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026 at 11am at Colonial Funerals, 86 Circular Avenue, Hamden, CT. Visitation from 10am to 11am. Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com.
