Rose Ann Batchelor

Rose Ann Batchelor

Rose Ann Batchelor transitioned unexpectedly on July 20th 2025 at the age of 59. She was born September 17th 1965 to her loving mother Annie Ruth Batchelor and father Robert Stovall. She attended and graduated from R.C. Lee High School in New Haven. She also attended Cosmetology School in New Haven.

Rose, lovingly called “Skida” by her family, loved her family—especially her son Patrick and her grandkids: Little Pat, whom she called (PJ), and Dion whom she called (Duke). But most importantly, she loved God who was first and foremost in her life. Giving God all the honor and praise was what gave her joy.

She was a faithful member of Thomas Chapel Church, attending church every Sunday as well as Bible study. Even when she wasn’t feeling the best with all her health issues, she still continued to press her way, because being at church with her church family brought her so much joy. She loved her church family and was proud to call them her second family.

Singing was one of her passions, which she loved so much. Alone or with a choir, it didn’t matter—she loved to sing. When she was younger, it was singing and dancing—both she did well. Once upon a time, doing hair was a passion of hers as well.

Everyone who knew her knows she loved fashion. She was a fashionista—always matching, and you know she always had the matching bags, shoes and on occasion, the hats too. But that was how she was.

One of the highlights of her life was spending time with the family on the holidays, especially Thanksgiving, because everyone who knew her knows Rose loved to eat!

She is survived by her father, Robert Stovall; three grandsons, Patrick Batchelor Jr. (New Haven), Dion Robinson (Bridgeport), Future Jones (Bronx, NY) two sisters, Frenchie Vaughn and Barbara Batchelor, both of New Haven, Connecticut; one god-sister, Renita Elliott of Monroe, Georgia; and three brothers, James Joyner of Lexington, Kentucky, Kevin Batchelor of New Haven, and Leroy Batchelor of Baltimore, Maryland. She is also survived by her aunt, Evangelist Barbara E. Holden, and godmother, Jenell Floyd, both of New Haven.

She leaves behind nine nephews: Tyjuan Langley, Antrum Coston, Quincey Langley, Dylon Burnett, Cameron Batchelor, Craig Batchelor, James Hammie, Jonathan Hammie, and Kevin Batchelor; five nieces: Chanell Moye, Sarah Langley, Tanaisha Burnett, Kianna Humphrey, and Jada Batchelor; four great-nieces: Kayla Langley, Laila Wooten, Zhuri James, and Zola Humphrey Walton; four great-nephews: Tyreek Langley, Isaiah Langley, Nathan Langley, and Da’Kari Burnett; and one great-great-niece, Malahni Bryant.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Annie Ruth Batchelor, and her son, Patrick Leon Batchelor.

Her family and friends have been left with a great void in their hearts. Rose’s family and friends, on the other hand, take solace in the fact that she is with the Lord. She was loved here, but God loved her best.
