On Sunday, May 17th, Rose San Juan, 59, of Hamden entered into eternal rest with the Lord after a courageous and hard-fought battle with a rare illness and cancer, surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
Born the youngest of 13 children on December 14th, 1966 in Balogo Oas Albay, Philippines, to Honorato and Saturnina San Juan, Rose was known as the “baby” of the family who was very much loved by her sisters and brothers. She would later go on to be known by thousands of others through her social media page, “Sharing is Caring”, for her larger than life personality, fun spirit and humor, positivity and kindness, selfless giving and donations, talented karaoke-singing, and for lighting up the room with her beautiful smile. She was most lovingly known as a devoted “Marose” to her many nieces and nephews, mom to her kids, and “Owa” to her 5 grandchildren.
Rose is survived by her four children - son, Jason Dote and wife Nadine; daughter, Jeorgian Oakley and husband Thomas; daughter, Kay San Juan; son, Kristofer San Juan and five grandchildren - TJ, Kiefer, Crew, Charlotte, and Ezra.
A celebration of Rose’s life will be held from 5pm-8pm on Friday, May 29th at Colonial Funerals, 86 Circular Avenue, Hamden CT 06514. We welcome anyone who knew Rose to join us in honoring her and her family. The following day, on May 30th, there will be a memorial service at 11am at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church on Whitney Avenue in Hamden. A private burial with just family members will follow.
