Rosette L. Freeman- Gattison was born in Norfolk, Virgina on July 23, 1956 to the Late William F. Freeman Sr and Lessie Barham Freeman.
Rosetta was educated in the New Haven Public School system; she graduated from Richard C. Lee High School.
Rosetta was affectionately known as Aunt Roro to her many nieces and nephews. She was a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many people. Lynn had laughter that made you laugh and always had a funny joke or comment, her favorite TV show was “Are we there yet” which she would watch repeatedly. Rosetta attended Art School in New Haven where she met and later married Richard Gattison.
Rosetta leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughter Lynece M. Gattison and son Richard I. Gattison of New Haven, CT. grandson Demetrus Kelly of Wisconsin and Edacy Sowell of New Haven. one brother William F. Freeman Jr (Lawanda) of Michigan, sisters Damonne Freeman-Jones and Stephanie Freeman of New Haven, sister-in-law Sherri Harris of Hamden, CT, brother-in-law Roberts Gattison.
Beside her parents, she is predeceased by her husband. Richard A. Gattison, sister Brenda Freeman- Cochran, sister-in-law- Sandra Mellerson , brother-in-law, Ronald Gattison Sr, nephews, Samuel Spann and Dyshant Mclean.
A Celebration of Rosetta’s Life will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Colonial Funerals, 86 Circular Avenue, Hamden, Connecticut at 9:30am. Viewing in Colonial from 8:30am-9:30am. Burial will follow at Beaverdale Memorial Park. Condolences may be expressed at www.colonialfunerals.com.
