Roy Lee Jones

Roy Lee Jones, 64, of New Haven, CT. transitioned on Sunday, August 20th, 2023, at Yale New Haven Hospital Saint Raphael Campus. Born in Aden, North Carolina on March 1st 1959, son of the late Essie Jones-Lane and late June Spencer; Stepson of the late George Junior Lane. Roy was a simple down to earth man with a kind soul and a heart of gold; he was very well known in the City of New Haven where he didn’t meet any strangers. Roy began working at a young age to help provide for the family, he had a passion for cooking and worked as a chef in New Haven along with various side jobs including construction sites. He overcame many obstacles, on June 25th, 2023 Roy walked up to the altar to give his life to the Lord. Roy is survived by his wife of 39 years Kimberly Miller-Jones, three children Tennille Nixon, Roy Nixon, and Gabriel Miller; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, five maternal siblings Sylvester Jones, Pamela Jones, Mattie Jones, Cheryl Lane, and Bart (Juakia) Lane all in Connecticut; two paternal siblings Jeanette Spencer-Johnson and Elroy (Tracy) Spencer of North Carolina  Also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Roy was predeceased by his Grandparents James O. Jones and Annie Jones, and two maternal siblings Terry Jones and Vanessa Lane. Roy Will Forever Be In The Heart Of All Who Knew And Loved Him.
