Saint Mother Juanita “MeMa” Virginia Furlow, a beloved matriarch and pillar of her family and community, peacefully passed away on February 21, 2025. Born on January 18, 1942, she led a life full of dedication, service, and unwavering faith. Juanita was the cherished mother of her only son, Bishop Randall C. Furlow, mother-in-law to Pastor Autumn Marie Furlow, and the devoted grandmother to Alvin James, Destiny Jaide, Diamond Ja’el Lynn, and Aydan Ja’ir Furlow. She is also survived by her loving siblings, Evangelist Janice Furman, Ronald (Betty) Furlow, and Frederick (Debbie) Furlow, a special daughter Jackie “Grams” Taylor, and a host of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Hazel Virginia Furlow, and her siblings William “Butch” Furlow and Helen L. Martin. Educated in the New Haven Public School system, Juanita embarked on a professional journey that spanned over 40 years, holding various positions in the banking industry and the healthcare sector. Her commitment to excellence and service was evident in every role she undertook. Juanita was also deeply involved in her community, serving many years on the tenant’s council of her residential community at Prescott Bush as treasurer. She generously volunteered at the monthly food bank, providing support and sustenance to those in need. A woman of resolute faith, Juanita was a founding member of Ekklesia Global Worship Assembly, under the pastoral leadership of her son. She served as the Global Church Mother, offering guidance, love, and a steadfast example of Christian devotion to all who knew her. Saint Mother Juanita “MeMa” Virginia Furlow’s legacy is one of love, service, and faith. Her life touched countless hearts, and her memory will forever be treasured by her family, friends, and community. May she rest in eternal peace.
A Celebration of Saint Mother Juanita’s Life will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025 in Beulah Heights First Pentecostal Church, 782 Orchard Street, New Haven at 11am. Viewing from 10am-11am in Church.
