Sylvester Woodhouse

Mr. Sylvester L “Woody” Woodhouse age 89 of Waterbury, CT born June 14, 1933 in Norfolk, VA entered eternal rest February 25, 2023. Mr. Woodhouse “Woody” was the son of the late Harriet Woodhouse. Woody lived in Waterbury most of his life. He worked for Scovill Manufacturing Company as a Toolsetter for many years. He also worked for New Opportunities of Waterbury (N.O.W) which he retired from. Woody was well know in the Waterbury community. He was Exalted Ruler of the Elks Club of Waterbury for 6 executive years. Woody also was the director of the Waterbury Knights Drill team which was originated in 1964. Woody is a cherished father of Ta-Tisha “Tish” Greene (Jerry), Keith LeShar Woodhouse, (Sylvester) Lorenzo Woodhouse. Predeceased Justina “Juicy” Johnson(Gregory) and Abu Lee Talib Amir. Grandchildren Endia Ward(Eric), Ashlee Mary Johnson-Rivera (Mariah), Jeremiah J. Greene, Jarayah L. Greene, Keith “KJ” Woodhouse, Kayleigh Woodhouse, Keion Woodhouse, Brennan Woodhouse, Kyann Woodhouse. Great grandchildren Jamiel L. Delgado, and Jalani S. Vargas. Predeceased Ja’Siah J. Vargas, longtime companion Debra Ann Gurga and a host of friends.

A celebration of Sylvester’s life will be held on Wednesday March 8, 2023 at 10am at Colonial Funerals, 270 West Main Street, Waterbury. Viewing in Colonial from 9-10am.
