On August 13,1969, it was preordained that Troy Kelies Sr would depart his earthly life on April 22, 2023 in order to enter his eternal life with the Lord Jesus Christ. Born in New Haven, CT to Sharon James and the late Tyrone sims. He was the eldest of 3 children. Known as Daddy, Stepdad Troy, and Baby Bubba to his family and friends. Troy was educated in the New Haven school system and graduated from James Hillhouse High School. He attended Sunday services at Deliverance Temple Pentecostal Church with his lovely wife, born children, and stepchildren. Troy worked for the City of New Haven Board of Education as a cafeteria worker. Troy enjoyed fishing, going to the gun range, cooking on the grill, watching his favorite NFL team the Pittsburgh Steelers play and most of all spending time with his family and friends. Troy’s favorite colors were yellow, black and green. Troy leaves to cherish his memories his mother Sharon James and wife Tanya Staggers. His two children Blessing Staggers and Troy Kelies Jr. His mother-in-law and Stepchildren. His four siblings: Rohan James, Toray Parks, Linda, and Eddie. A host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. His God brother Andre and God sister Toya. Troy was predeceased by his Grandmother Georgia Kelies, Father Tyrone sims and Sister Kernita James. Troy will be missed greatly by his loving wife, children, stepchildren, siblings, God sister, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Rest in peace Angel until we meet again.
A celebration of Troy’s life will be held on Friday May 12, 2023 at Colonial Funerals, 86 Circular Avenue, Hamden, Ct at 11am. Viewing in Colonial from 10-11am. Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com.
