Tyrus Madison Bennett was born in Maysville Kentucky March 31, 1964. Tyrus entered into eternal rest on 1/25/2022. Tyrus was born to Mary Bennett and the late Thomas Bennett Sr.

Tyrus was a lifelong resident of New Haven, CT. Tyrus graduated from Hill House Highschool in New Haven. He was a longtime employee of Porcelan Specrail in Hamden. Tyrus enjoyed his job and the people who he worked with. Tyrus lost his soul mate Tabitha in 2019. It was difficult being without her, but he continued to enjoy life and was close to his family and friends.

Tyrus enjoyed many things in life including watching boxing, MMA fighting, sports, and movies.  He enjoyed playing chess since childhood. He like to play chess on his phone as an adult.In his youth, he loved playing both football and basketball. He was a very good athlete. His favorite pastime was fishing with his wife Tabitha prior to her passing.  Recently, he enjoyed being active on social media.

Tyrus was loved by many and will be greatly missed. He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother Mary Bennett, his siblings Thomas Bennet Jr. (Billette), Tim Bennett (Tonya), Teresa Allen(Sayvojee), Brother/Friend Curtis Martin (Kenya), Three children Anitha Hutchings, Marquise Hairston, and Jennifer Bethea, Four grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Tyrus was predeceased by his wife Tabitha Bennett and his father Thomas Bennett Sr.

A celebration of Tyrus’s life will be held on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 11am at Colonial Funerals, 86 Circular Avenue, Hamden. Viewing in Colonial from 10-11am. Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com.
