Valerie C Conyers

Listen to Obituary

Valerie Corda Parker, 65, born to the late Willie Arthur and Gracie Mae Parker, on August 25, 1960, in Waterbury, CT, unexpectedly entered into eternal rest with the Lord on 12/13/25.

Valerie was a graduate of Crosby High School and attended Mattatuck College. She worked in many capacities in the city of Waterbury. She often frequented the Independent Center, a place where she felt comfortable to be herself and build on life skills and advocacy. As an honor, Valerie was chosen with the Independent Center to speak at the Capital in Harford, CT on behalf of adults with mental health and disabilities challenges.

Valerie was one of the most generous souls you would ever want to meet. She had a big heart and helped anyone she could; often not leaving enough for herself.

Valerie enjoyed attending church and on occasion bible study, where she could meet and talk to her friends. Valerie loves music, especially listening to the Commodores, Freddy Jackson, and Teddy Pendergrass. Her warm and gentle spirit along with her smile will truly be missed.

Besides her loving mother, Valerie is survived by her only beloved son, Jeremiah Daquain Parker, her husband Alonza B. Conyers, siblings: Willie A. Parker (Teresa), Dinah H. (Parker) Ralph, Clinton N. Parker, Gracie M. Parker all of Waterbury, CT, and Maurice D. Parker of North Carolina; Uncles: Claude L. (Arabelle) Parker - Waterbury and James O. Parker - North Carolina. Valerie was predeceased by her father, Willie A. Parker, brothers: James D. Parker, Tricia R. Parker, Clayton A. Parker, and Ray A. Parker. Valeries also leave behind a tribe of nieces, nephews and cousins.
