Wayne Fulton Henderson

March 16, 1963 — September 15, 2022

Wayne Fulton Henderson

Wayne Fulton Henderson was born in New Haven, Connecticut on March 26, 1963 to the late Walter R. Henderson and Catherine E. Henderson. Wayne was the second of two (2) children from this union. Wayne transitioned to be with the Lord on September 15, 2022.

Wayne attended New Haven Public Schools, through to Hillhouse High School and finishing his education in the U.S. Marine Corps. He excelled as a Marine, earning a Good Conduct Medal, a Rifle Expert Badge and distinguished himself as an expert Rifleman. During his tour of duty, Wayne served his country in the Philippines and in Japan. He was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps in 1983. After leaving the military, Wayne performed different types of work in security, auto mechanics and transportation.

Wayne married Yvonne Reddick in 1994. Together they raised two (2) step sons.

Wayne had a big heart and was very generous. He loved his family and was particularly proud of their accomplishments. Wayne loved to debate various issues and could engage in intellectual argument like only a Henderson could. He loved all kinds of music and particularly loved old black and white movies and TV shows, especially westerns. In his later years,  Wayne spent a lot of time tracing his family history.  He was eager to learn about more about himself and the lives and traits of his ancestors. Wayne became extremely excited  when he was able to trace his lineage back to the 1600s.

Left to cherish Wayne’s memory, are his wife and step-sons Aaron and Jamie Henderson, his loving sister Sandra Henderson-Eubanks, nephew Nicholas R. Eubanks, his furry canine companion Neilson and a host of other family and friends.

The Henderson Family is grateful and appreciative for all condolences and expressions of sympathy.

A Memorial, Military Honors and Repast of Wayne’s life will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022 at Charles W. Wood VFW Post 10321 Time: 1:00 to 4:00 PM 403 Morse Street, Hamden, CT 06517. Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com.
