William L. McCleese ll (Abdullah As-Siddiq), age 40, of New Haven, CT passed away unexpectedly on December 7, 2023. He was born on April 7, 1983 to Felicia (Theodore) Benton-Mccoy, and to the late William McCleese Sr.

William attended New Haven public schools, later received his GED, and worked at Asi and was employed at Yale New Haven Hospital in the Environmental Services Department. He Studied at Yale University and the University of New Haven where he received certificates in graphic print technology, small business ownership. and plumbing. And he was also a part of these programs: Thinking for Change Alternatives to Violence and its Facilitator for Avp for many years Voices. Good Intentions/Bad Choices. Anger Management, People Empowering People, Facilitator for Lifer’s Group.

William was handsome. outgoing, and full of smiles that when he smiled the world smiled back at him. he loved writing poems, was a jokester, a play writer, and acted in the Garner Theater Players.

William leaves to mourn wife Ebony McCleese of 2 Months (Ariane Gates). Josephine McCleese 4 Brothers- Anthony and Teejay Johnson. Michael McCleese and William McCleese llI all of Net Haven. 2 Sisters-Kennisha Benton, Melinda McCleese of New Haven. 3 Nieces- Zi’are Johnson, Ka’tore and Ka’lei Benton. 1 Nephew- Nazier Benton all of New Haven. Brother by love Clarence Austin (Big P) of West Haven. Sisters by love Tomasenia Benton (Twin) and Tashana Perry and Erica Green all of West Haven, and Dee Thompson, Celeste Coleman of New Haven. Aunt/ 2nd Mom Myra Benton Waters, and Mother in law Yvonne Locke. And 2 God-children Honesty Thompson, Sam Coleman of New Haven. Best friend Donald Moody (Joyce) of Hamden, And Darkis Henry and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Friends to cherish his memory.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 11, 2023 at Colonial Funeral Home, 86 Circular Avenue, Hamden, Connecticut from 8am-10am. Janazah Prayer will be held at Masjid Al-Islam, 624 George Street, New Haven at 12:30pm. Burial will follow at Garden of Peace Cemetery in Cheshire, Connecticut.
