William Henry Moore

William Henry Moore, affectionately known as Poppy, was born to Charles and Edna Rozarie Moore. He was born on April 24 ^th , 1940. He peacefully gained his wings on June 8th, 2021.

William was a life-long resident of New Haven, CT.

To his many nieces and nephews, he was known as the “cool uncle”, because of his swaggered walk and delightful smile. Poppy loved his family and was blessed to witness three generations of his family grow and blossom.  He enjoyed playing chess with his sons, fishing, and most of all, he loved riding his bike through the streets of New Haven.

William leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Tina Moore, two daughters, Bridget Smith of West Haven, Sonja Moore-Duarte (Gary) of Hamden, four sons, William (Mustafa), Derwin, Howard (Michelle), and Omar Moore all New Haven CT, three brothers, Robert (Bobby) Moore of New Jersey, Marvin and John Moore of Waterbury, CT, his beloved sister, Marjorie (Margie) Carlton (John) of New Haven, CT. He had twenty-four grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Memorial Celebration of Life will be held on Friday June 25, 2021from 1-6pm at 
Ceilo Italian American Club
