William Mcarthur Rollins

Born on November 11, 1942, Willie McArthur Rollins aka “Boot” was a vibrant soul whose passion for life was evident in everything that he did.

Born and raised in Martin County, North Carolina, Boot became a master in the kitchen and was known for his incredible cooking skills. He found joy in preparing and hosting meals for family and friends. Rightfully so, that he retired from Yale New Haven Hospital after over 30 years of service. Boot was a true party enthusiast. His spirit and energy will be missed by all who had the pleasure of celebrating with him.

“William” was preceded in death by his parents, Augustus and Naomi Rollins; brothers: Ed Askew, Lewis Rollins, and Mickey Rollins sisters: Betty Lou Chance, Emma Jean Rollins, and Rosa Peterson; his soul mate: Flottie Myers; bonus son: Leon Myers.

“William” is survived by his children: Tyla Myers, Jerry Rollins, Annette Parker; bonus children: Wanda (David Crudup, Terry Shepherd, Sam Myers, Charles Myers; grand children: Jerry, Mike, Marquell, Kayla, TreRonn, Jordan, Dyonne, Dajuan, Ashley.

16 great grandchildren; four brothers: Henry, Ricky, Jimmy, and Danny; three sisters: Brenda, Margaret, and Evelyn; one aunt Mary Durham and a host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

A celebration of William’s life will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 11am at Wayfaring Ministries 29 Marne Street Rear, Hamden, Connecticut. Viewing in church from 10 to 11am. Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com.
