Passions

Willie, affectionately known as "Larry" by his southern family, embraced life with enthusiasm. He enjoyed domestic and international traveling (especially with his immediate family and/or J-Friends social club), fishing, gardening, home improvement projects, model cars and trains, playing the bass guitar, and partnering with Dee in a card game of bid whist.

While the world celebrated him for his many accomplishments, his greatest pride and joy was being a man of God, husband, father, papa, and brother. Dee would tell Tesha and Latesha, “when God made your father, He broke the mold”. They called him, their “hero”. His grands knew “whose baby they were - his”, and “Donny”, his little brother, was his protector, lifelong confidant, and the undeniable piece that completed him. The precious memories created in each capacity will live for eternity.

A celebration of Willie’s life will be held at 11am at Hamden Plains Church, Hamden, CT. Viewing in Church from 10-11am. Burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven, CT. Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com.
