Willie Lee Hobbs 83 of Waterbury, CT passed away in her home on Monday April 21, 2025. Willie was born on March 1, 1942 in Hobbsville N. Carolina to the Late Willie Mae Hobbs and Walter Hobbs Sr. Willie who was known to everyone as “Sugarpie” was a loving, caring, compassionate women who at the same time took no mess (as she would say) from no one. She made friends everywhere she went and was liked and enjoyed by all who encountered her compassionate spirit. She loved cooking, shopping, cross word puzzles/ puzzles, playing cards, making her own creations, telling jokes, laughing, and spending time with her family. She always said “FAMILY IS ALL YOU HAVE” and tried her best to make sure we always got along. She was such a warm hearted person who would open her arms to all who needed her. She always had something cooking in the kitchen and had no problem feeding anyone who was hungry, always on the go, in some store, at some party or gathering, or just at her sister’s house with friends/ family. Her sincere love of taking care of others is most beautiful Memory of them all. She is proceeded in death by her brother; Walter Hobbs Jr of Connecticut and sons Harold Presha and Donald Presha of Florida; She is survived by three sons Ronald Presha AKA Bobby(Elsie) of Florida, Norman Hobbs AKA Peanut, Alfonso Hobbs AKA Bud, and one daughter Orlene Hobbs AKA Cudda of Connecticut; Grandchildren, Casey, Quiana(Kyle), Anna, Ronald Jr, Marquita(Devon), Shauntae, Quinita(Terrell), Diamonique, Tashea two sisters Shirley Becton(James) and MaryAnn Hobbs of Connecticut; and a host of Great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A celebration of Willie’s life will be held on Tuesday May 6, 2025 at 11am at Colonial Funerals 270 West Main Street, Waterbury, CT. Viewing in Colonial from 10-11am. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Colonial Funerals and James R. Sanders, Funeral Director. Condolences may be expressed at Colonialfunerals.com.
